Ven. Saigyo Cross ino became a student of Zen Master Anzan Hoshin in 1998. He practiced as a branch student at the Harrow Zazenkai in England, before deciding to emigrate to Canada to take up residential training at Dainen-ji. He moved to Canada in February 2001 and received postulant monastic vows at the October Daruma-ki O-sesshin of that year. He received novice monks vows in October 2002 and was appointed to the training post of tenzo-anja in March of 2002. On October 9th, 2003 he received Transmission as a practice advisor. On July 18, 2004, he began training in the monastic training post of Shuso. On October 8th, 2004 he received full monk's vows from Ven. Anzan Hoshin roshi. On January 1st, 2007, he began training in the monastic training post of Chiden. On April 15, 2012, he began training as tando. On October 10th, 2019, he was appointed to the training post of Ino by the Roshi.
